Louder than Thunder

"what would it take,
for things to be be quiet,
quiet like the snow?
are we meant to be empty handed?"


For the UWA Song interp contest, I did the song Louder than Thunder, by Devil Wears Prada.

I dunno if we're supposed to type down our interpretations, but i think my picture will make more sense if I did...

The way the music and the lyrics sounds, it seems as if he's asking for more than just silence. From my point of view, i think he's really asking for everything to peaceful and still, to stop time itself and give a moment for everything and everyone. Almost like he wants a moment of silence for everyone who sacrificed their lives for the greater good and those who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But at the same time, he wishes that he could have done more as he says in these lines

"but I know, I could,
I could be better.
I don't think i deserve it, selflessness."

So the reason I used my OC, Parry, for this picture is because he's been around for 200 years, seen the world change and all the bad and good things that have happened to it. For the last 200 hundred years, Parry has consistently been the same while everything changed around him, so he, like the singer, would want time to stop, just for a minute, though their reasons for doing so are different. Which is why the (broken) pocket watch.

Yeah... sorry about that rant
